Our history, mission, vision, structure, and values — everything that defines who we are and why we serve.
Our Story
The Cameroon Cultural Association of Southern New Jersey (CCASNJ-USA) is an apolitical, nonprofit, 501(c)(3) charitable organization. It draws its membership from Cameroonians and friends of Cameroon all over the world.
CCASNJ was created in 2010 by a group of dedicated Cameroonians in South Jersey who felt the need to bring all Cameroonians in this area into a forum that would generate benefits to its community and to Cameroon at large.
Since its founding, membership has grown leaps and bounds. Membership is open to all well-meaning persons and friends of Cameroon. The CCASNJ group doesn't discriminate or judge people of where they are from — we see everybody as equal and welcome people from all over the world to our forum.
The mission of CCASNJ is to create an inclusive society for all persons in need, regardless of their national origin, race, political affiliation, or educational background. CCASNJ is dedicated to inspire a sense of oneness, mutual assistance, and a spirit of selfless service — empowering, supporting, protecting, and promoting growth and integrity in our community.
A group of dedicated Cameroonians in South Jersey came together to establish the association and build a united community forum in Southern New Jersey.
CCASNJ received official federal tax-exempt status, enabling tax-deductible contributions and formalizing the organization's charitable mission.
Following the outbreak of the Anglophone crisis in Cameroon in 2017, CCASNJ launched emergency refugee relief efforts — providing food, water, and basic needs to displaced persons.
Revenue reached $68,509 in FY2022 (peak year). Expanded scholarship programs, refugee relief operations, health fairs, and annual conventions.
Annual convention held October 21, 2023 — a sold-out event featuring cultural exhibitions and fundraising for underprivileged families in the US and Cameroon. Revenue: $59,254.
Total revenues $53,257. Charity Navigator rated CCASNJ at 86% — a Three-Star rating recognizing accountability and impact. Filed Form 990-EZ December 2024.
Following the loss of the original domain, the website was fully rebuilt and recovered. Expanding donation channels and deepening community programming across Southern NJ.
